On March 7, NaFFAA, New Virginia Majority, and various Filipino American organizations joined together to learn about and collaborate around current issues affecting the Filipino community in VA: pathways to citizenship and naturalization, civic engagement, Census, and state and local immigration related policies.

Organizations in attendance included: Philippine American Foundation for Charities (PAFC), Philippine American Chamber of Commerce (PACC), Virginia Asian Advisory Board (VAAB), George Mason University Filipino Cultural Association (GMU FCA), Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), Filipino Young Professionals (FYP-DC) , Philippine American Nurses Association (PNAA), Filipino American Lawyers Association – DC (FALA-DC), Manila Mail, Filipino Veterans Recognition and Education Project (FilVetREP), Gabriela DC, BPSOS, and Prio Bangla.

Meeting presentation content around the Census 2020 and pathways to citizenship will be shared widely as materials become available.

Many thanks to New Virginia Majority for co-hosting the event – we look forward to participating in future discussions.
