ABOUT NAFFAA

The National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization. Established in 1997, NaFFAA has promoted the welfare and well-being of the more than 4 million Filipinos throughout the United States. NaFFAA’s vision is to serve as the voice of all Filipinos in the U.S. by uniting, engaging, and empowering diverse individuals and community organizations through leadership development, civic engagement, and national advocacy.

OVERVIEW

NaFFAA seeks a full-time Executive Director to oversee the organization’s fundraising, programmatic, advocacy, and communications efforts.

Reporting to the Board of Governors and its National Chairman and Executive Board, the Executive Director (ED) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for NaFFAA’s staff, programs, expansion, and execution of its mission. She or he will initially develop deep knowledge of the community, core programs, operations, and business plans.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Manage NaFFAA’s day-to-day operations, supervise staff, and recruit volunteers to coordinate key functions
  • Direct all fundraising and organizational growth efforts, including philanthropic, corporate, and individual partnerships
  • Supervise all programmatic efforts, including the National Empowerment Conference, Civic Leadership Forums, Federation Forum, Empowering Pilipino Youth through Collaboration (EPYC) Program, FilAm Vote Program, and others
  • Oversee membership growth in consultation with NaFFAA’s regional leaders, and manage NaFFAA’s CRM database
  • Track legislative and advocacy efforts with federal, state, and local officials
  • Supervise strategic communications through press releases, social media, and interviews with Filipino American press
  • Serve as main liaison to community-based organizations and external coalitions, including the National Council of Asian Pacific Americans (NCAPA)
  • Ensure commitment to and compliance with all applicable laws and 501(c)(3) regulations across the organization
  • Create a culture of transparency and communication, and proactively address challenges in internal and external environments
  • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned by NaFFAA’s Board of Governors

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 5-10 years of experience in non-profit management or related fields
  • Prior experience in a senior leadership role managing staff and volunteers
  • Strong track record in fundraising, programmatic, advocacy, and communications efforts
  • Ability to cultivate relationships with diverse stakeholders, including funders, community leaders, youth, elected officials, and press
  • Knowledge of Filipino American issues, needs, and leaders
  • Ability to navigate the political landscape and thrive under pressure in fast-paced environments
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful strategic plans
  • Deep understanding of financial strategies and finance-related performance metrics
  • Strong aptitude for verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Flexibility to work extended hours and to travel as needed
  • Ability to work legally in the United States
  • Bachelor’s degree required, graduate degree preferred

COMPENSATION

The Executive Director is a full-time position based in Washington, DC. Annual salary is commensurate with background and experience. A benefits package will also be offered.
