National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) Holds Welcome Reception Night Before 20th Anniversary Gala

Washington, DC — On Friday, October 20, 2017, at 5:00PM EST, the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) will hold a Filipino American History Month Welcome Reception at Capitale in Washington, DC, as a kick off to its 20th Anniversary Gala Weekend.

This reception will feature remarks by NaFFAA National Chairman Brendan Flores and representatives Ben DeGuzman and Jon Melegrito of The Filipino Veterans Recognition and Education Project (FilVetREP). All proceeds from this event will benefit Filipino American World War II veterans. For every donation of $100, two Filipino American World War II veterans or their families will be presented replica Congressional Gold Medals.

This event is being is co-sponsored by the following organizations: NaFFAA, FilVetREP, The Filipino Intercollegiate Networking Dialogue, Inc. (FIND Inc.), Filipino Young Professionals of Washington DC, Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS), Federation of Philippine American Chambers of Commerce (FPACC), the National Filipino American Lawyers Association, Pilipino American Unity for Progress (UniPro), and the Philippine Nurses Association of America.

The Welcome Reception precedes NaFFAA’s 20th Anniversary Gala, which will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017, at the Wardman Park Marriott in Washington, DC. The gala will recognize NaFFAA’s two-decade legacy, and highlight its comprehensive vision to unite and amplify the voices of four million Filipinos and Filipino Americans living in the United States.
