NaFFAA is the largest national affiliation of Filipino American institutions and individuals. The following statement was issued today by Brendan Flores, NaFFAA National Chairman:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe most important message from today\u2019s court decision goes directly to Congress: Federal Internet law has not been updated in more than 23 years and only Congress has the power to end the back-and-forth from changing policies and litigation. Internet openness is about so much more than service providers. Today, the major technology companies also have the ability to influence consumers\u2019 access to content and services. This is especially important for this country\u2019s 4 million Filipino and Filipino American residents, who depend on an open Internet for economic and social needs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is strong bipartisan agreement that every Internet user deserves an open, transparent Internet. Congress should apply this standard equally to all Internet companies, including the major technology companies that increasingly influence and control what we see online.
