New Census Data Shows More Than Four Million Filipinos in the United States<\/strong><\/p>\n

Washington, DC <\/span>\u2013 Recently, the U.S. Census Bureau released its latest <\/span>American Community Survey<\/span><\/a> (ACS) data, showing that there are an estimated 4,037,564 Filipinos in the United States, including in the following states:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

  1. California: 1,651,933<\/li>\n
  2. Hawaii: 367, 364<\/li>\n
  3. Texas: 194,427<\/li>\n
  4. Washington: 178,300<\/li>\n
  5. Nevada: 169,462<\/li>\n
  6. Illinois: 159, 385<\/li>\n
  7. New York: 144, 436<\/li>\n
  8. Florida: 143, 481<\/li>\n
  9. New Jersey: 129,514<\/li>\n
  10. Virginia: 108,128<\/li>\n
  11. Maryland: 71,858<\/li>\n
  12. Arizona: 70,333<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    According to the data, there are an estimated 21,646,070 Asian Americans in the United States, and Filipino Americans make up the third largest Asian American subgroup behind Chinese (5,219,184) and Indian (4,402,362) Americans.     \u201cThe newest data from the American Community Survey reaffirms what we already knew: Filipino Americans are an emerging population not just within the Asian American community, but throughout America as a whole,\u201d said NaFFAA National Chairman Brendan Flores. \u201cHowever, while we continue to grow in numbers, we have hard work to do in terms of civic engagement and representation. NaFFAA\u2019s commitment has always been, and will continue to be, harnessing the energy and passion of the more than four million Filipinos who call America home, and uniting us with one strong, clear voice.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
